Power projects announced for the wind energy in Russia is more than 10 gigawatts, and their implementation will increase the share of electricity from renewable energy by 2020 to more than 4.5%. There are a lot of wind energy projects (wind farms) in Russia today. Capacity of existing wind farms are not more than 12 megawatts. The head of "VetroOGK" noted that most of the announced projects were available in European part of the country and in the Far East. According to his data such amounts could surpass the capacity set by the state goal of bringing electricity to 4.5% in 2020.
