Omsk region has passed through the competitive selection of the Russian Ministry of Energy and now the region is eligible for a federal grant for energy conservation. Russian Government signed an executive order. The subsidy for the region is 52.5 million rubles.
The federal subsidy is given to co-finance the implementation of activities of regional programs for energy efficiency. According to the Russian Ministry of Energy in 2012, grants will be given to 36 out of 70 regions that have applied.
