To date, the efficiency of solar cells is less than 25% - despite the fact that, as a kind of generation, solar energy is one of the most effective renewable energy. In this regard, Roscosmos (Federal Space Agency) has announced a competition - participants are invited to create a new production of solar converters, the efficiency of which would be not less than 36% (preferably 40%). The stated price of the contract is equal to 73.7 million rubles.

Opening of bids submitted for the contest will be held on 29 January, the 2013th, and on January 31 will review applications. On the results of the competition will be known, the 02/07/2013
