With the MVS661, the Siemens Building Technologies Division introduces a redesigned magnetic valve for use in CO2 cooling systems. The valve combines the highest level of control accuracy with maximum operating safety. It is designed for pressures up to PS 53.

The MVS661 by the Siemens Building Technologies Division is a magnetic valve optimized especially for use in sub-critical CO2 cooling systems. For this purpose, the hermetically sealed valve was expanded to a maximum permissible pressure of PS 53 and the weld-on ends were adapted to meet the standards EN 12627 and ASME B16.25, Schedule 40. As a result, this rugged and maintenance-free valve achieves outstanding operating safety even in harsh environments.

Using magnetic technology, the valve offers fast positioning times of less than a second as well as high resolution and precise positioning control thanks to integrated position feedback. The valve is available in size DN 25 and supports kvs values from 0.16 to 6.3 m3/h. Customers can choose between DC 0/2…10V or DC0/4…20mA interfaces.

Magnetic valves are superior to conventional valves in complex HVAC applications with widely fluctuating loads since they achieve outstanding control quality even in the most challenging environments.

Acvatix magnetic valves are part of Siemens' Environmental Portfolio. In fiscal 2011, revenue from the Portfolio totaled about €30 billion, making Siemens one of the world’s largest suppliers of ecofriendly technologies. In the same period, our products and solutions enabled customers to reduce their carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by nearly 320 million tons, an amount equal to the total annual CO2 emissions of Berlin, Delhi, Hong Kong, Istanbul, London, New York, Singapore and Tokyo.
