From 2012 to 2018 five small hydropower plants are planned to be put into operationin the Altai region. Questions of construction of small hydropower plants and development prospects of the industry as a whole were discussed during the meeting devoted the development of renewable energy sources in the region, the news agency "Interfax" reports. In particular, the meeting participants discussed the construction of a hydropower plant on the river in Anhui Soloneshensk area, which was started to be erected in the spring of this year.
Soloneshensk, Gilevsk, Charyshsk, Krasnogorodsk Sibiryachihinsk hydroelectric power stations, which are expected to be commissioned before 2019, will provide the remote settlements with cheaper electricity, the news agency informed.
