Grundfos CEO & Group President Carsten Bjerg, Grundfos Group Executive Vice President Søren Ø. Sørensen, and General Director of 'Moscow Heating System Company' Aleksandr Ponimarenko signed an agreement of intent.

 The document is in fact a participation agreement for the projects concerning energy efficiency increase of Moscow heat supply system with application of  energy service contracts. The main areas of cooperation are fixed in the agreement. Among them is the energy inspection of pump equipment, compiling of a energy efficiency increase measures list with feasibility study, working out of a complex program for energy efficiency increase of Moscow heating system etc.

 'An extensive economy modernizationis being hold nowadays in Russia. The aim which has been set by the President Dmitry Medvedev is the energy efficiency increase. Denmark is one of the world's leaders in the energy saving sector. We are glad to share our experience with Russian companies. Grundfos has worked out its own method of pump systems function estimation which is called PumpAudit. With its help you can find and eliminate present defects. PumpAudit will help plants to save 20–40% of energy costs', — said one of the agreement initiators Head of Project/Engineering Department Andrey Makarovsky.

The companies plan to sign the final agreement not later than October 2011. After that specific practical steps will be taken.
 
The problems of further agreement development were examined in the Grundfos headquaters in Denmark during the visit of the Moscow Heating System Company specialists headed by the Deputy Director for energy efficiency Pavel Korolev on the 18th of August.
