Specialists of the Omsk water utility (included in the GC "Rosvodokanal") developed and certified five innovative techniques for the analysis of water quality.

It was reported by chemical engineering laboratory center JSC "Omsk Vodokanal" Olesya Zubkova, speaking July 18, 2012 in Tyumen on the inter-regional scientific-practical conference of young scientists in the field of water supply and sanitation, which was organized by the group of companies "Rosvodokanal."

Among the techniques developed by the Omsk Vodokanal - measuring of the concentrations of aromatic hydrocarbons in water by gas chromatography, the measurement of fat content in waste water by gravimetric method, determination of mass fraction of the active part in the synthetic polyelectrolyte gravimetric method, etc.

All five methods are included into the federal register of measurement techniques. Methods of measurement using gas chromatographic methods are certified by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, Federal State Unitary Enterprise "VNIIM. Mendeleev, "writes AkvaEkspert.Ru. They allow you to determine the content of toluene, ethylbenzene, styrene, o-xylene, isopropylbenzene and-methylstyrene in surface and waste waters.

New techniques are more rapid - the time from sample collection to the work before receiving the first result is 30-35 minutes and includes a wide range of definitions of organic substances without prior dilution.

The preparation of the data for the certification was not easy: the staff of the Laboratory Centre OmskVodokanal carried out about 300 studies of standard samples with a given concentration of aromatic hydrocarbons, and about 200 studies on real samples.
