The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are providing an initial $4 million of energy efficiency funding for Belarus’ industry and small to medium businesses.
Industry and commerce in Belarus is energy intensive and the finance aims to help the country reduce energy consumption, and cutting carbon emissions.
The initial loan will be a five year loan of $4 million via the Minsk Transit Bank (MTBank), allowing them to offer loans to its industry and small business clients for investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
A broad range of sectors will qualify for these loans including manufacturing, services and retail among others.
