About one billion rubles will be spent on energy saving measures in the Sakhalin region. It was announced by the Regional Minister of Energy and Utilities Georgiy Mitrik at a press conference on preparations for the new heating season. In accordance with Federal Law № 261 "On Energy Saving" Sakhalin region filed an application for a grant from the federal budget for these activities last year. The application was accepted, and the program of energy saving in the Sakhalin region has been redesigned. Source of funding for regional and municipal budgetary organizations is more than 600 million rubles. At the moment there is a resolution signed by the Prime Minister on the allocation for the Sakhalin region 385 million rubles for the implementation of measures for energy conservation this year.
