4 billion rubles for energy saving
Preliminary results of the energy saving reform 2011 were summed up in the Tomsk regional administration at a meeting of industry working group "Energy efficiency and energy saving" which was held within the framework of an interdepartamental working group for modernization and technological development of the Tomsk Region.
According to Irina Cherdantseva, Deputy Head of Economic Department of Tomsk Region Administration, significant notable effect of the reform was that the population would feel a reduced industry power consumption by 40% compared to 2007 only in 2020: "It is a long-term program, not for one year, that's why we are facing the task in the first place to create all necessary legal, technical, organizational conditions to achieve this breakthrough."
During the energy saving reform which has being lasting already for two years, almost one hundred percent of Tomsk Region state and local government facilities were equipped with gas and electricity meters, up to 98% – hot water meters, 95% – cold water meters, 80% – heat energy meters. This work was supposed to completed till June 2012, taking into account technical capabilities.
